Dental pain? Call us.
If you are in pain or have swelling, call Thames Street Dental on 020 8546 6546 so the team can advise you on the next available appointment.
What counts as a dental emergency?
-
Severe or persistent toothache
If dental pain is affecting your sleep or normal daily activities, contact us for an urgent assessment.
-
Broken or damaged teeth
Contact us so that we can assess the damage. Treatment may include bonding, a filling, crown or other restorative treatment.
-
A knocked-out adult tooth
This needs urgent dental attention. Contact a dentist as soon as possible.
-
A lost or broken filling or crown
This can leave a tooth uncomfortable, sensitive or vulnerable to further damage. Contact us for advice and to arrange an appointment.
-
Dental abscess or infection
Symptoms can include severe toothache, swelling, a bad taste in the mouth, tenderness or difficulty chewing. It needs prompt assessment.
What should I do right now?
- 01
Knocked-out tooth
Hold the tooth by the crown rather than the root. If it cannot be gently replaced in the socket, keep it in milk and bring it with you. Do not try to reinsert a baby tooth.
- 02
Injury
If you have injured your teeth or mouth following a fall, accident or sporting injury, contact us for advice. Teeth that are badly broken, loose or knocked out may need urgent dental treatment.
- 03
Out of hours
If you need urgent dental care when our practice is closed, contact NHS 111 for advice.
When to call 999
Call 999 or go to A&E if you have a serious injury to your face or jaw, heavy bleeding from your mouth that will not stop, or severe swelling of your mouth, lips, throat or neck that is affecting your breathing.
